New Hue, the app and this website, is run by New Hue Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, number 17541084, registered office 16 Bayley Road, Alconbury Weald, Cambridgeshire, PE28 4XJ ("we"). Decorating businesses use it to measure jobs, price quotes, plan work and invoice their clients. This page says what personal information the app holds, why, who else sees it, and what you can ask for.
Questions about your information: [email protected].
We are responsible for your account information. We hold:
Our support team sees your jobs and clients' details only if your account's owner switches on Let New Hue support look in Settings. It lasts seven days at most, it's read-only, and every visit is listed in Settings.
We use this to run your account, keep it secure, support you and bill you. The legal basis is our contract with you, our legitimate interest in keeping the app working and secure, and, for the records of what you paid us, the tax law that says we must keep them.
The app uses one cookie, to keep you signed in. It does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not sell anyone's information.
If a decorating business uses this app for work on your home, that business decides what it records about you and is responsible for it. We store it for them and only use it to run the app. That can include your name, address, phone number and email, details and photos of the job, colours, quotes, invoices and payments, and anything you send through the link they give you (an answer to a quote or an extra, a snag and its photos, a colour you choose).
To see, correct or remove your information, ask the business that did your work. If you can't reach them, write to [email protected] and we'll pass it on and help.
The link a business sends you is private to your job. Anyone holding it can see that job's page, so don't share it.
When you join the waitlist we keep your name, email and anything else you choose to give us (business name, mobile number, how many people work with you, how you quote now). We use it to send your invite when your place is ready and the odd update about New Hue before it launches. The legal basis is your consent, which you give by joining. We keep it until you join New Hue or ask us to remove you, and never more than 2 years.
The website sets no cookies. It counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn't identify you.
These services handle personal information for us, under contracts that keep it confidential and secure:
| Service | What for | Where |

| Apple, Google and Mozilla push services | Deliver notifications to the phones you turn them on for. They see the notification text. | USA |
| Xero | Only if a business connects its Xero account: quotes, invoices, client contact details and bills from receipts go to Xero. | UK, USA |
| Intuit (QuickBooks) | Only if a business connects its QuickBooks account: quotes, invoices, client contact details and approved bills from receipts go to QuickBooks. | USA |
| Anthropic | Only when a business uploads a floorplan to make rooms from, a photo of a house to fill in its outside, photos of a kitchen or fitted unit to count its doors and drawers, or a photo of a receipt, or describes a room in words to fill it in, or asks for an email's wording to be tidied or a pasted enquiry to be read: the plan, photo or words are sent to be read. And when someone asks Ask New Hue a question: the question, the open job's rooms and figures and the business's rates are sent to answer it. Nothing else is. | USA |
| Sage Group plc (Sage Accounting) | Only if a business connects its Sage account: quotes, invoices, client contact details and approved bills from receipts go to Sage. | UK |

| Resend, Inc. | Only when a business sends a client email from New Hue: the client's email address and the message are sent to deliver it. | USA |
| Cloudflare, Inc. (R2) | Stores snag and receipt photos and the quote and invoice PDFs on client pages. | EU |
| Cloudflare, Inc. (Pages) | Hosts the website and counts visits to it without cookies. It sees your IP address. | EU, USA |
Where a service is outside the UK, the transfer is covered by the UK's adequacy rules or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
We share information with the police or a regulator only when the law requires it.
Each business decides how long it keeps its clients' records while its account is open, and must keep some (such as invoices) for as long as tax law says.
Everything travels over an encrypted connection. Passwords are stored scrambled. Each business's information is kept apart from every other business's, and only people the business has added can sign in to it. The pages a business shares by link (a client's page, a job sheet for helpers) open for anyone holding the link, so each link is long and unguessable.
If information we're responsible for is lost or seen by someone who shouldn't have it, and that puts people at risk, we'll tell the Information Commissioner's Office within 72 hours and tell the people affected.
The app is for businesses and isn't meant for anyone under 18. We don't knowingly hold children's information, other than what a decorator records about a household they work for.
You can ask to see the information held about you, to correct it, to have it deleted, to limit or object to how it's used, or to have a copy to take elsewhere. Write to [email protected] (or, for a decorator's records, to the business). We'll answer within one month.
If you're unhappy with how your information is handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We'd like the chance to put it right first.
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell businesses using the app before it takes effect. The date at the top says when it last changed.
